Not Much Time Left To Switch To Using A Suitable Alternative Energy Resource
The continuously dwindling amount of oil reserves today is making big news all over the world and this issue is leading to much concern, especially at a time when the population of the world is demanding more energy to sustain its lifestyle. Oil is the predominant energy resource though it is also the most expensive one and is currently in short supply. This means that it is necessary to look for suitable alternative energy resources which will help mankind overcome its current precarious energy predicament.
Coal Is Found In Abundance In The USA
Coal is a good example of alternative energy resource and it is found in abundance in the US and these reserves can rival the oil resources found in Saudi Arabia. Coal is useful for the generation of electricity and it can also be used to create “synfuels”, which if properly used can prove to be an excellent alternative energy resource.
Heavy oil is another form of alternative energy resource and it can prove to be very effective. Natural gas too is a good alternative energy resource and it is currently being used in the production of electricity as well as for heating purposes and is widely available. Natural gas burns cleanly and it can also be used to power up automobiles as well.
Nuclear power is also a useful alternative energy resource and it can in fact lead to large scale generation of electricity though disposing of its waste is a major problem. Alcohol as well as biofuels is also good alternative energy resources and they have the advantage of being produced from plants such as corn and hemp.
Hydrogen is perhaps the most abundant alternative energy resource and it can also be produced from a number of compounds and it can also be stored though it does also require great amount of money to properly utilize this alternative energy resource. Solar power is a largely untapped alternative energy resource which can, when used on a large scale, generate enough electricity to meet the entire energy needs of our planet.
Wind too is a wonderful alternative energy resource and it can be harnessed to produce significant amount of electricity. There are several good reasons why wind is being considered as the best alternative energy solution for the future. With more emphasis being given to coming up with viable solutions in regard to tapping these alternative resources, it will not be long before a radical change takes place in the type of energy resources we will be using to meet future energy requirements.
